song #2

i have one more song. it is my last one, as it strains my brain to do this. plus, i need to be with my Mom. she's goin' back to work part time tomorrow and i have to enjoy this last day with her home and reassure her that everythin' is gonna be ok.

sung to the tune of Motown's Aretha Frankins "Natural Woman"

Lookin’ out on the evenin’ sun
I used to feel so tired
And when I knew I had to be here for my Mom
Lord, I would feel so wired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But your love allowed me to really unwind

Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like a natural poodin

When my soul was deep in trouble
Boni came along to save me
I didn’t know what troubled me
‘til your purr helped me name it
Now I’m now longer troubled, or worried about each day
Cause if I make you happy there is nothing more to say
Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like natural poodin

a song

well. Derby challenged us all to write a song. mine probly isn't as good as his, but my Mom's kinda busy and couldn't help me so i did the best i could havin' to type it all by myself and stuff.

A Tribute to Boni (sung to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)

purr away, purr away, Boni dear
stash that gun behind your ear
lookin' good like a gun moll should
hangin' out with me in the 'hood,
purr away, purr away Boni dear
pour a white russian, not a beer

tie that apron around your waist
do not teleport here in haste,
we will party all night long,
or at least until the bad guys are gone

purr away, purr away Boni dear
pour a white russian and not a beer
we need more members in our gang
tuxedos, calicos or cats with a fang
contact one of us day or night
we're only tryin' to do what's right

purr away, purr away Boni dear,
i will take care of you, do not fear

how many names do i have?

was readin' William's post 'bout their secret names. i don't think all my names are secret, they're just the things that my Mom and the Dad call me sometimes.
The Pooch
Sweet Pea (why are William, Eddie & i all Sweet Peas???)
Handsome Man
Mr. P
Smooch
Hoochiecoochiesmoochiepoochieman (don't ask)
Mr. Pantaloon Man
Bird Boy of Berkley
these are the fav'rites. obviously, "Pooch" is the most popular of the bunch

Wed. 7/19 update: Boni questioned "Mr. Pantaloon Man". you know how long haired cats, if you look at us from behind, have all that foofy fur on our back legs? well, my Mom said they look like pantaloons (like Johnny Depp wears in the pirate movies) and started callin' me that.

William wanted to know about "Bird Boy of Berkley." well. i'm not a very good hunter, but one day, my Mom walked in the kitchen and there were feathers on the floor. as she looked, there was actually a trail of feathers, leading to the bathroom. when she got there, she found a dove, just sittin' there. i caught it and brought it in as a present. i didn't hurt it or anything, 'cept for it losin' some feathers. the Dad put a towel around it and put it back outside. my Mom started callin' me Bird Boy of Berkley 'cause she was proud of me!

one year!

i too have an anniversary. it was one year ago today that Timmy mentioned me in his dream and i felt compelled to start a blog. i had no idea what i was getting into. i didn't know what on earth i'd talk about or who any of you were or if i'd be "accepted" into the bloggin' community.

after a year, all i can say is "you rock." all of you poodins and beans are so wonderful and kind. my Mom and i have enjoyed readin' 'bout your adventures and sharin' ours with you. we hope year 2 will be just as much fun!
P.S. thank you to Boni my Tudedo Gun Moll and her Mom Robyn for my new hat! Boni brought it over at the tuna lunch the other day. it is awesome!!!

wow, that was fun!

i can't believe so many of you showed up for lunch on such short notice. it was fun to see all you guys!

my Mom set a bunch of tables up in the yard for us with pretty plates and flowers so we'd enjoy our tuna more and this is one of them. that blue plate in the back is one of my fav'rites, it came from aryzona.
thanks to all of you who brought nip and stuff - it wasn't necessary but was very thoughtful. my Mom thanks you for the compliments on how she looks - it's kinda hard havin' big surgery on your head. she doesn't like her picture taken but i'll try to sneak one later 'cause i think she looks pretty again.

i gotta take a nap, you guys tired me out. will write more later.

thanks again, it was really fun!!

back porch

some of you might start to think that i spend my whole life on the back porch, but that's not the case. it's just so nice out there with the screens and this nice weather that Casey and i try to hang there as much as we can. our chairs even have "anti fur" covers on them so when any bean wants to sit down they can just pull them off and not get their clothes all furry.

now this down here is somethin' really special. it's my very own rainbow. in the house!!!! my Mom has this thing that turns when the sun hits it and it's got a crystal thing hangin' on it that makes rainbows!! it is way cool and i like to watch it. if anybody wants to come over, i'll show it to you (wednsday would be a good day to come. one of my Mom's friend's is comin' over and i heard my mom say she's makin' tuna sandwiches!)

4th of July

hi everybody!! this is me on the 4th of July. i was bein' kind of stealth 'cause my aunt and uncle were over and i don't know them very well, plus there were fireworks that were really loud, but even tho' all that was goin' on, i hadda stay around and keep an eye on my Mom 'cause she was barbequein' and i wanted to make sure she was safe. some of the pills she's on make her dizzy and i didn't want her fallin' on the grill and grillin' her arm or somethin'. anyway, everybody liked their ribs and eventually it was quiet and i got to sleep. happy day after!!

update

hi everybody. we're sorry we haven't been postin' much, but with my Mom not feelin' real good, it's hard for me to get on the computer. but, she's feelin' stronger each day and we wanted to give you a "heads up."

the noo-ro-surgeon operated on my Mom and took out as much of the bad stuff as he could. now she's takin' pills to make her better. her doctors say she's got a really good chance of bein' a-ok so that's what we're gonna work toward.

my Mom wants to say somethin:

well. during this past month and a half i have found out what an amazing bunch of people ( and kitties) you all are. the number of you who have sent cards and emails and have posted and prayed is truly unbelievable. you are very special and whatever happens to me, i will always be grateful that i had the chance to find that out. i believe that the more positive vibes that are swirling around out there the better, and you all have contributed to that in a mind boggling way. i thank you all.

i do not want this blog to be about me, it's about my wonderful buddy Edsel, so after today, we're back to him as the focus - which is what it should be. there are several of you who I'm communicating with, and it seems you have some underground network set up, so feel free to share info about me if you wish. again, bless you all.
