how many names do i have?
was readin' William's post 'bout their secret names. i don't think all my names are secret, they're just the things that my Mom and the Dad call me sometimes.

these are the fav'rites. obviously, "Pooch" is the most popular of the bunch
Wed. 7/19 update: Boni questioned "Mr. Pantaloon Man". you know how long haired cats, if you look at us from behind, have all that foofy fur on our back legs? well, my Mom said they look like pantaloons (like Johnny Depp wears in the pirate movies) and started callin' me that.
William wanted to know about "Bird Boy of Berkley." well. i'm not a very good hunter, but one day, my Mom walked in the kitchen and there were feathers on the floor. as she looked, there was actually a trail of feathers, leading to the bathroom. when she got there, she found a dove, just sittin' there. i caught it and brought it in as a present. i didn't hurt it or anything, 'cept for it losin' some feathers. the Dad put a towel around it and put it back outside. my Mom started callin' me Bird Boy of Berkley 'cause she was proud of me!

Mommy used to call Ralphie "sweet pea" but she said she 'retired' the name - but sometimes she slips and calls me "sweet pea" too- 'acause she says I remind her of Ralphie. I guess it's better than "bam bam sam sam" which I hate. - Sammy
Momma calls me Patchy Noodle and Wonder Woman. She calls Mittens Toes of Many Colors and Toey Toey Gal. I guess we need to think up nicknames for our Momma's instead of calling them Meow!!

That was nice of you not to hurt that birdie. The only time we got close to a birdie was when one fell down our chimney and Mom opened all the doors to he could fly out.
your description of "pantaloons" was good. Mommy calls Trixie's pantaloons "pork chops" because her legs look like the shape of pork chops wif her long fur

Fanks for the explanation Edsel! Mom got all funny eyed when you said that bout that Johnny guy in the pirate movie. She said you can come live wif us if your beans gotta move away or somefin cuz she loves things that remind her of that guy. HMPH! I say she woulda let you come live wif us anyways if you didn't got a place to live just cuz you're you. Mom is silly bout that Johnny guy. That's why I won't let her look at Kukka's blog where she got that pirate slave for her blogiversary.

Out in the real world, what Le Trois Cats call a J-O-B, they call me something else besides Cowboy. It kind of irritates me, sometimes, but I guess it is a term of affection in its own way.
Of course, my favorite was to call Eponine, My Little Monster. She loved to be called that too.
I can just picture the pantaloons. You'll have to ask your momma to take a picture of that to better show us. Some might call it "your better side."
Oh, and here all along I thought Edsel/The Pooch was your full name. I totally could hear your momma hollering "Edsel/The Pooch, it's time for dinner" or whatever the case may be. Never realized it was an "extra" name. See, a year into your blog and me and others are still learning more and more about you.
By the way, tell your momma I hope all is going well and that she is getting better and better!
My mum calls them bloomers not pantaloons. Because she thinks they look like the bloomers victorian ladies used to wear. I have interesting news on my blog today - fellow gingers Big Eric and Flynn have got a new blog, please visit and say hi to them if you can!
