quiet day

it's snowin' and cold, just what you would expect at the end of january in the mitten state. i keep askin' my Mom "why don't we live somewhere sensible, like aryzona or california?" everything i hear 'bout those states doesn't include snow. or cold. i really can't complain, it's not like i'm outside all the time. but on a day like today when my Mom is home, she lets me go in the yard. but crap, who wants to go out there when it's all cold and i get snow between MY TOES???? sigh. maybe they'll decide to move. until then, i just look out the windows on the back porch and watch the birds and squirrels do whatever they want 'cause i'm not out there to keep them in line.

other than complainin' 'bout the cold, we're all okay, and we have to be thankful for that. my Mom has soup cookin' on the stove and it smells good and the house is warm. i'm gonna go nap, then go over and read the latest installment of Dolce's Dad's story.

stayin' warm

well, here in the Mitten state it's been a cruddy week. the sun is out today and it's 22 degrees right now, but earlier in the week it was scary!! it got real, real icy and big tree bits were fallin' all over the place! one of our bits fell in our neighbors driveway and we had to hire a chainsaw guy to get it out so he could get his car outta the car house. at night the wind would howl and my Mom and i would just lay there and listen to big tree bits hit the house and fly all around, hopin' nothin' would get hurt. and we'll all ok (whew!)

nothing much goin' on

hi. we apparently are very borin'. i have nothin to report. my Mom went back to work this week (not happily), she had an MRI of her head that was good, we're making a beef stroganoff thingy in the crockpot tomorrow for dinner, and my Mom is goin' shoppin' with her friend Denise tomorrow.

i hope everybody is havin' a good new year so far. it doesn't seem like winter here in the mitten state, all we get is rain, rain, and more rain. plus, it's seepin' into our basement....that's where the kitty bathrooms are, and it's very disturbing to have to figure out how to keep our paws dry while doin' our "bizness".

hope everybody is doin' good. i'm patrollin' the estate, makin' sure everything is ok.
