it's cold

they say it's a polar vortex. i don't know 'xactly what that is , but it's very, very cold. thursday night our furnace stopped workin' and my Mom was very worried 'bout that. it's so much money for a new one, and with this awful cold if they couldn't get it workin' right away what would we do? we were lucky tho. they were able to fix it for "only" $670 and we have heat. whew. my Mom said we dodged a bullet. i don't know what that means. i'm just glad the house is warm. right now is 7 degrees outside and they say with the wind chill it's -15. my Mom took sunflower seeds outside for the squirells and birds and nobody even showed up to eat. too cold.

Wow...that's very cold. I;ve never been where it's THAT cold, I don't think. I'm pretty sure it didn't get that cold when we were in Ohio.

The People lived in North Dakota once, and it got REALLY cold there. One time there was a blizzard that knocked the power out for 4 days and they didn't have heat at all, and there was ice floating in the toilets. I'm glad that was before I was born...

We won't make any cracks about Detroit and bullets...oops, we just did!
Our furnace went out last night too. Wouldn't you know it does it on the coldest night of the year. It was 55 in the house when dad woke up at 6. He got it re-lit, but it's on its last legs and needs to be replaced NOW! We are expecting -26 tonight (air temp, without windchill factored in) Holy Crap!

Oh my goodness! We're glad it was able to be fixed, but that's a ton of stinky goodness for $670!!!
Owr Maw and Paw replaced owr whole system last year, but at least the utility bills have stayed the same (unlike other beans around here whose bills went up by 100%). At least dat wat Maw sez all da time to justify all the money dey had to spend.
Pleeeze stay warm!

wow, that's lots of monies. our mommy has eleventeen 'lektrik heaters in the house 'acause she says lektrisity is cheaper than the gas, which is what runs our furnace - so the furnace is set to barely warm and the lektrik heaters heat the rest of the house. i likes laying in front of them. - Miles

We do the electric heater instead of the biggie gas heater thing too, like the Meezers. But my mom always tells me I'm hogging the heat. Why'd she turn it on then, is what I wonder.

Anyway, hope you've managed to hog some heat at your place!

I bet it's so cold your purrs sound like brrrs instead! At least your heat is working again. The groundhog said it's supposed to be an early spring, so that's something to look forward to! Cuddle up with your Mom and get that kitty heater going so that repaired heater can rest some...
