STOP THE MADNESS
oh Mom, how could you? after all the talk lately about roosters and knowing that i'm scared of 'em, how, oh how, could you go out today and buy A WHOLE BOX OF THEM????? A WHOLE BOX OF ROOSTERS!!!! do you hate me that much, Mom? here, all this time i thought you loved me, i thought i was your special boy......and now i find out that you have done this. where will i go?? i obviously can't stay here with a WHOLE BOX OF ROOSTERS!!!
what? you didn't buy a box of roosters?? well, i know i heard you talking about it.....what??? oh. you bought a roosting box. well, i guess that's different. ummm. Mom? what's a roosting box? .........oh, really?? oh my! i had no idea!
well! my Mom read an article in the paper today about birds in winter. it said that the little birds try to eat all day when it's cold so they have enough energy to shiver all night, and that's what keeps 'em warm enough so they don't freeze. but, but, if it's below freezin' for a few days in a row, they just can't stay warm enough and lots and lots of 'em die. and that with a lot of trees bein' cut down and stuff, there aren't holes for them to roost in. but, nice people (my Mom!) can put up roosting boxes. they have little holes and perches and lots an lots of birds fit in and huddle all together and stay warm. what a cool idea!! thanks Mom, for bein' nice! (and i bet the birds will thank you too!!)

what a cool idea! we wish your mommy hadded posted a pikshur so that our mommy would know what one looks like so that she could go out and buy one. does they sell them at home depot or lowes or a store like that?
Sammy & Miles - my Mom will put a picture up today. we just were sort of busy tonight. we got ours at Wild Birds Unlimited a store that has all kindsa bird stuff. she went there first so she doesn't know if the stores you mentioned have them. i don't know if a Pets Supply Plus or Petco might have 'em too.
It´s a good idea!! Birds will thank for her.
Good idea, as long as the box is where you can watch the yummy birds come an go. What's the point of attracktin birds if puddins don't get to watch them?

I want one! But I wonder if my bird friends would use it. One of the fun things about getting our house was that I got to have Mom hang up some bird houses in our trees, but no one ever moved in to them. It can get cold here at night and I don't know what my friends do to stay warm. Maybe I'll talk my mom into trying the roosting box anyway. It certainly can't hurt.
I also had another thing to say about the doves after reading the rest of the comments on your last post. All my friends get along just fine, doves, sparrows and finches. In fact, if there's ever a time my mom has to tell them "No fighting and no biting" (like she tells us), it's to the finches, who get real mean to each other!
We know you have a wonderful Momma, Edsel. She is a good lady. Give her some kitty kisses from us.
