just an observation

bean language is very curious. take, for example, the word “fly”. if I asked you what that was, depending on your life experience, you might answer:

1. an annoying (yet tasty!) little insect
2. a very scary method of transportation
3. the opening on bean pants, as in “button fly”

what is wrong with these people? don’t they have enough creativity to find different names for things. i mean, somebody could say “Jane, swat the fly” and depending on Jane’s perception, Bob, who’s standing next to her, could be reeeealll unhappy!

Edsel, this is deep. Very deep.
Did you think of that when you were in your basket? That makes it a thinkin basket. You know that Eskimos have like 20 million words just for 'snow'. No that's smart.

S, S & S - yes, i did think of that in my basket. that is where i do my best thinkin'. i used to have a shallow basket, but the one i have now is deep. maybe that's why i am havin' deep thoughts....

Excellent discussion point, Edsel. And humans say they have trouble understanding us?? At least meow means meow!

Edsel

That's why we cats are the superior beings. We only have specific 'meows' for specific things. Like "TUNA", "CATNIP", and "LET ME IN"!

OUCH, I wouldn't want to be Bob if Jane were around.

With luck, Bob would already be nootered and it wouldn't hurt so much. Or if Jane was really weird, she'd try to swat a movin airplane. You never know with these beans.

PS Special to my Gangster Guy - Sorry I hadn't been around much. I've been real busy helping Mom make jewelry. Grandma promised to get us a picture of me helping Mom to send to you. I'll remind her bout that.

We have a really deep thinkin' basket that the mom has filled with her junk. I'm gonna make her clean it out so us kitties can have our place for deep thoughts back. I better get to work on her. Everycat needs a deep thought basket.

Edsel, yep I help Mom make jewelry by sitting in her lap and supervising to make sure she does it right. I'll tell Sanjee bout the arty stuff. It sounds cool. Kitty treats would be even cooler tho. I'm glad you're comin to Finny and Buddy's party. I'll serve White Russians minus the Russians. And no, no Green Russians. That would be icky! See you at the party!

Mom said there's another fly. She said people used to say, "You're so fly" - which is something like "you're so cool."

Now I'm really confused.
