oh, a nice, sunny day!

it's been so dreary here! but today the sun was out and
my Mom and i went out in the back yard! she put out
seeds and fresh water for the birds and squirrels and i
patrolled. here i'm doin' very important territory
markin' on the bushes around the perimeter. (you can see
my tail up in the air, wigglin'!!)

then i went onto the back porch and toasted on
my wicker chair in the sun. when it's a sunny day,
even tho' the porch isn't heated, it's real comfy.

while i snoozed on the porch, my Mom was doin' stuff in
the kitchen, enjoyin' the sun comin' in the window (that's
my cat grass soakin' up some sun too!) all in all, a very
pleasant day.

P.S. i still don't have a pet. anybody out there know anythin' 'bout ferrets?? i saw one on tv and he looked really cute! since i've never heard of a "dust ferret" my Mom can't get stupid 'bout that and i might ask her 'bout one.

My Mom babysat two ferrets for a friend once and even though they had been descented, she said they were kind of smelly, but very cute. I guess they like to explore and are very curious. Other than that though she doesn't know much. We aren't sure what they are, but Mom said a friendlier version of mongooses. So there you go, hope we helped. We loved the pictures ~merlin, Shadow, Ko Ko

Oh Edsel, you were so lucky to get all of that sunshine. Nice that you have that special room to be in that looks all nice and sunny.

Ferrets bite. Really.

Thanks for the compliment on the blog changes. Mum spent lots of her time when she coulda/shoulda been resting. That's why I love her so.

You need to tell your mom that Cats are like potatoe chips...You can never have just one. As for cat grass, it rocks. Our mom grows it for us in her office and then brings it home. We have issues about not waiting until it is long enough to eat.

We didn't know you had a sister. I'm going to have re-read your blog. Dolce says to keep trying. Although Magoo would just as soon give her the Paw of Death, Smudge absolutely adores his little sister.

Ask for a kitten of your own. Then you can train it the way you want.

Sister Casey sounds like she will try to eat anything new that comes in the house. Find a book about guinea pigs. They are very easy to care for as long as you meet their special needs like vitamin c and timothy hay for their digestion & munching pleasure. They love to sit on their favorite persons lap and burrow down for a nap. You do have to trim their nails though (or a vet can do it). Very easy to care for, easy to love critters. But I'd worry about Casey...

Based on the photos, it looks like you live a pretty sweet life, Edsel!

Sorry I can't help with any info on ferrets, etc. But I'm still pretty pleased with the big soft spider on a string with bells at the end of its legs that I got for Christmas. I know it's not the same thing as a real live pet though...

Nice photos Ed! I really like your turtle you did on the wicker chair. Knows what? wicker am my favoritest thing to put my stinky rub on! There am a wicker basket under the computer and I always scratch on it ;)
We're enjoying the weather here too! Unseasonably warm!! Momma said she didn't even need her coat to get the mail a'cause it was that warm :) Somethin' like 60 degrees...oh I thinks Spring might be comin'!!

Ask for a chicken as a pet. When you get tired of it, you can have it for dinner.

Did your sisfur really try to kill you? Bonnie hisses and growls and swats me, but she's never really hurt me. My boy had a guinea pig at school and Juliet was a really nice pet. He said if you held her right, she seemed to purr. My mom says ferrets need a lotta super vision and exercise and only live a few years. I like my real fur mouseys, but they don't snuggle. We have sun again, too, but I've never been outside. It's nice in the living room with toys and tissue and sunshine. Cat grass is another thing I haven't tried yet. I'm almost a year and so much to do still! Mo-om!

By the way, I am saving the cat grass you sent Eponine. I look forward to making it grow someday!
