it's not funny, Mom!

i've been talkin' to my Mom for a while now 'bout me gettin' a friend. my sister is a bust and i'd like another fur in the house who would be my pal. i told her a thought a bunny would be good and she just shakes her head.

today, when i asked her again, she said "Edsel, run upstairs and look under the bed. i think you'll find a surprise!" all excited, i ran up and looked. all i saw was a couple of shoes and my quilt that i lay on when the doorbell rings. i went back down and told my Mom that there wasn't anything there! she said to look again.....so i did, and nothin'. so my Mom went up, came back down and said "go look in the living room" so i ran in and this is what she brought down for me:

it's a dust bunny!!!!
and it's not funny Mom, as she laughed and laughed.
i'm goin' to sulk in my basket. maybe i'll go live with Diva Kitty and the fluffies.........

I hate to break your heart, Edsel, but all three of Dolce's sisters have been adopted. Also, these are Canadian kitties. Could you handle the humiliation at having your butt served to you in a game of tub hockey.

I don't think anyone would blame you if you did go live with her! Plus, then you could wrap up in one of those fuzzy scarves she makes....maybe I'll come too!

Let's see here. Canada has how many world championships in Hockey? And the US? Now if it was basketball, then the tables would be turned. But hockey? That will be when H3LL freezes over. And we'd win there too.

The Red Wings are having a good year...Thanks to their Canadian Players. Oh sure there are a few Russians, Some Czechs and Few Fins and Swedes. But of all the players in the NHL, 240 are CDN versus 141 US, 38 RUS, and 57 CZE.

Edsel, your mum has a very wierd sense of humor if she thinks a dust bunny would count as a furry friend. True they don't eat or poop. But really!

Sorry you had to sulk Edsel. I didn't know you had a sister! You never talk about her. There's been some talk about another furry friend here as well. We'll have to see how it goes. Dust bunnies aren't so bad though. But I often feel silly when I'm told there's one hanging off my whiskers. But you know, you have to look into some deep dark places for stray crunchy food!

Sulkin looks like the right thing to do, Edsel! That does not look like a fun furry friend. It looks even more boring than sisters! a'course it probly wouldn't steal your catnip carrot either tho. Let's all go to Diva Kitty's and have a party maybe?

Edsel you sweet basket kitty...your mom is such a trixster!

We all hope that one day you get your wish for a furry friend to snuggle in the basket with. In our house, I watch Blackie & Tanner snuggle with each other and wrestle too!

But some times mom finds me snuggled up with Blackie, more like I sneek up on Blackie when he is asleep and lay on him...prrrrrr!

Sweet basket & furry dreams to you Edsel,
Miss S of The Whippy Curly Tails in the Toasty South!

Sounds like a dirty trick, but also like a fun little joke.

I you decide you want a family of dust bunnies or even a whole crop of them, just holler.

Perhaps you could reciprocate and leave a nice stinky present for her in her bed? Surely such consideration deserves reciprocation? No?

Oh Edsel, the Flyers thing is so sad with my mom. Mom says she is quite aware last time they won a Stanley Cup was 30 years ago. Thirty!!! That was when she started cheering for them... and they haven't won since. She thinks she's a jinx, poor mom. Every year she invests her heart & soul into that team only to be shot down in the spring. Year after year..... She watches hockey nearly every night 'cause we get the NHL Channel. We watch with her sometimes, unless she starts to get rowdy. She sits & watches hockey the way men sit & watch football. She's a nut.
But regarding the Wings, she is in love with Stevie Y's beautiful brown eyes.........

if dust bunnies (here in Sweden they are called "dust rats") are considered to be fellow pets, than i have lots of brothers and sisters at Casa Curiosa!!

That is so not right! I also agree a reciprocal present might be appropriate!

Edsel, if you REALLY want another furry, you can have Victor. I want him to LEAVE. I preferred being the only cat around here. As for the dust bunny joke, I'd place my next hairball where she's sure to find it. Harmphfff.

I'd love to live with you, Edsel, but I love my people, too. I like the dust bunnies at my house, but they make me sneeze. Bonnie doesn't want me here, no matter what I do. At least dust bunnies don't hiss at me or swat me. What's a nice kitty to do when people can't give us what we want? Mew!
