Start singing Christmas songs, and maybe try to get the stuff out yourself. Also work on the dad!
Edsel, just don't force the mum to do anything. Just let her do what she wants. Sometimes just the thought of doing all of that is too much. Encourage her to do small things and little bits at a time to get ready for Christmas. Mum does it that way, whatever gets done, gets done. But it still is Christmas.
Maybe your mom has just been pre-Christmas'd out already. She's probably been exposed to decorations since August!
Anyway, when it gets closer, she might change her mind. My mom always says we won't do anything because of certain tiny boy but then she always caves a little. I guess whoever that certain tiny boy is he never shows up!
Why you guys are not njoying this christmas? I am trying to plan something new in this christmas..
And hey,you can check out this post on my adorable kitties. I hope u'll like it...
Edsel, sumtimes Mommies are furry bizzy round Christmas. My Mom is, and it makes her kind of grinchy. But there's time for her to get away from the Grinch. Derby's gott good suggestions, tho. And snuggling and purring with Moms helps with lots of things. Want me to come help snuggle and purr on your Mom?
Purrrrrrrrrrrs to my Tuxie Gangster :)

I think it has something to do with her op-purr-ashion, Edsel. Our Momma is the same way! Even with all the snow we just got, she is still a hum bug. Maybe purring would help although I cuddle her every night, all night long and sing to her, doesn't seem to have helped.

I think your mom probably feels like our mom. It is just a little too early still to get into the holiday mood, she says. Give her a couple of week, and she might feel more festive. Plus give her lots of lap sits and purrs and headbutts. That always helps.

As long as she has you and the Dad that is all the christmas she needs. Although the christmas decorations and gifties are nice, it is more the spirit that means the mostest.
Give yur Momma a little more time, I am sure that just like the grinch she will find that spirit.

Remember the moral from the Grinch story. Christmas wasn't the boxes or bags, or tinsel or trimmings, lights or toys or even the roast beast. Those things are just outward signs of the season. Maybe your mom is just carrying Christmas in her heart this year.
Gee that's funny. I thought the Grinch lived at our house, but we call him Dad! He hasn't put up lights or a tree in a long time, but at least Mom still wraps presents and we always help her.
yup. he wuz here too. the Lady sed no tree, no deckorashuns, no prezzunts, no nuffin. an then she sed she's lookin' ta leaf us fur the day ta volunteer sumware.
he's been here too. no tree for us eifurr. we doesn't know 'bout purresents, but wif no jobbie for mommy, it's kind of doubtful.
My mama isn't too excited about Christmas either, but that's because we don't have a job yet. Maybe some nice Christmas music closer to the holiday will help. And purrs.
My mama said rent the 40's version of Little Women. That will help. We have our own copy.
It has somefing to do with the heart and two sizes and shoes being to tight. That's all we know. ~Merlin, Shadow, Ko kO
