a sad day
well, the big old dead tree is no more. the people who cut it down were very bad at their job. our yard is a mess and the police were here to yell at them and traffic was blocked and oh boy it was a mess. the Dad was real mad at them and said they might not get their money and it just went on and on. i'm sad 'cause the birds and squirrels will miss that big old tree. the whole front of the house looks funny without it and my Mom cried. some days are just sad. but my Mom kissed me on the head and said i made her feel better just being there, so that's a good thing.
we have a new birdbath in the back yard - it's made of concrete and boy those birds love it. in our other birdbath, they never took baths, just drinks, but this one they get in a dip and fluff and it's the funniest thing ever! that was a good thing too.

That must have been a noisy day. We hide on 'Noisy truck day" (garbage day) when those monsters come...then theres the big brown truck and other loud scary ones. Nope, don't like it at all.
Tangerine - it's a really big birdbath with lots of room. as long as you don't mind takin' a bath with others 'cause everybody likes it! today we had a yellow goldfinch and a red cardinal there at the same time! (don't yellow and red make tangerine??)
We had a poor dead tree too that our mom had to have someone cut down for us. I know that even though it was completely bald and could've fallen in the street on its own, Mom didn't want to make it go away because lots of doves loved to sit it in. Nobody lived in it because there was no cover, but still. I felt sad for the doves having to find some other place to watch the world, as Mom did.
But Tangerine's right--we already have 2 little trees out of the blue kind of near where this one was.
